Clyde J. Stephens, 61, retired carpenter, was found dead in bed Friday morning at the home of his son, Dallas, Mellott, where he had resided recently.  Charles Fishero, Fountain County coroner who investigated the death attributed it to a heart attack.  Mr. Stephens was born April 5, 1886 near Hillsboro, son of James and Mary Ann Thompson Stephens.  He was married in 1906 to Goldie Wakeland, who is critically ill in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville. All his life was spent in Fountain county.  He was a member of the Mellott Congregational Christian Church.  Surviving besides his widow are three children, Mrs. Mary Lewis, of Veedersburg; Dalllas, Mellott, and Alvivn, Lombard, Ill; and two brothers, Harry and Jesse, Mellott.
